It also acts as a shock absorber between the layout surface and the tracks to cushion vibrations. Easily glued or tacked in place, it requires no pre-soaking before installation and won't dry out or crumble over time. Compatible with all applicable NMRA standards for roadbed, it can easily be used with cork or other materials.
