Tangent 26022-02 Chicago and North Western (CNW) Original DF Equipped 1964+ 40′ PS-1 9' Door Boxcar #24155

– Chicago & North Western (CNW) “Original DF Equipped” 1964+ is a patched CNW 1956 paint job, modernized for a 1964 and later era.  This car is a C&NW “brown” car with black ends, but this is a patched car, where the original “NEW 1956” date has been painted out and a “COB 6 64” has been restenciled in its place, with the COB representing the Council Bluffs, IA yard (scale).  This beautiful car includes the sharp, large C&NW logo in black and white on the upper right carbody side.  C&NW also added a large “DF” inside of a rectangle stencil to the right side of the car.  The left side of the car includes the CNW reporting marks with lines above and below them as found on these Pullman-Standard painted cars.  The brake stencils above the right side trucks have been updated to match the prototype photos including a paint patch on top of a paint patch!  The car also has an added stencil “WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO AGENT C.N.W. R.R. NEENAH WIS. VIA REVERSE ROUTE” to show its likely assignment to load at the Kimberly-Clark paper mill in Neenah, WI.  These boxcars were built at Pullman-Standard’s Michigan City, IN plant and of course our car covers that correctly with the stenciling next to the door.  These cars include the second version of the Superior 9’ door, with a different horizontal support pattern than the Southern cars that preceded these.  These cars have a black car cement roof, but the roof includes the typical Pullman carbody color overspray onto the top of it from the sides.  This new model rides on the Tangent Scale Models 50-Ton ASF A-3 plain bearing truck.
